1917 Archive
OldAerialPhotos.com have acquired what is believed to be the very first aerial survey of London. The survey was undertaken by the Royal Flying Corps in 1917. A series of vertical aerial photographs were captured following the path of the River Thames, taking in such sights as The Tower of London, Crystal Palace, The Docklands and the now demolished Joyce Green Hospital.
These images can now be viewed and bought online through OldAerialPhotos.com search facility. The map of the River Thames below shows the position of the images that are available to view and buy online for £60.
